Q1 2026 GivePanel Campaign Benchmark Report
Charities running campaigns through GivePanel in Q1 2026 raised £5,337,650 from 94,083 registrations, with an overall activation rate of 38.19% and an average of £159.41 per Active Fundraiser.
Before the breakdown, one thing is worth keeping in mind throughout: a campaign’s effectiveness is never down to one variable. Paid media effectiveness, audience targeting, and the specific event type a charity chooses all play a part, alongside the platform and month a campaign runs in. Use the benchmarks below as a baseline to compare your own campaigns against, not as a guarantee of what platform or category to pick.
Q1 2026 overall benchmarks
The first quarter established a strong baseline, with an activation rate exceeding 38%. The overall high average revenue per Active Fundraiser, £159.41, indicates that while acquisition volumes were slightly lower than in subsequent quarters, the quality and engagement of the participants were notably high.
Monthly distribution
By campaign start date, January raised £565,723 from 12,598 registrations, February raised £2,029,646 from 34,584 registrations, and March raised £2,742,281 from 46,901 registrations.
Q1 demonstrated a clear month-over-month compounding effect. Both registration volume and total revenue scaled aggressively throughout the quarter, with March campaigns generating nearly 5x the total revenue of January campaigns.
Platform performance: Facebook vs. JustGiving
Facebook’s activation rate reached 36.67%, with an average of £102.03 per Active Fundraiser. JustGiving’s activation rate reached 41.34%, with an average of £265.58 per Active Fundraiser.
JustGiving significantly outperformed Facebook across both core metrics in Q1. Not only did JustGiving yield approximately 2.6x more revenue per Active Fundraiser, but it also successfully activated a higher percentage of its total fundraiser pool, 41.34% against 36.67%.
Campaign category performance
Distance challenges, measured in miles or kilometres, raised £3,602,318 from 54,025 registrations, an average of £66.68 per registration. Dog walking challenges raised £530,260 from 16,433 registrations, an average of £32.27 per registration.
General distance challenges were the cornerstone of Q1 revenue, representing over 67% of total funds raised. Dog walking challenges proved to be a popular secondary acquisition channel, driving over 16,000 registrations, though they yielded roughly half the average revenue per registration compared to standard distance events.
