Custom Facebook Fundraisers: New GivePanel Feature

When a supporter creates a fundraiser for you on Facebook, the default settings are generic. Custom Facebook Fundraisers lets you set them before the supporter ever sees the page.

Why the default settings cost you money

When someone sets up a fundraiser for your charity, Facebook fills in the blanks. The cover image is generic, the description is boilerplate, there is no target, and the end date is often sooner than your campaign runs. Most supporters never change any of it, because editing five fields is work and they have already done the generous thing by starting.

The result is a fundraising page that does not look like your charity, does not explain your cause, has no progress bar because there is no target, and closes while people are still donating.

What you can pre-set

The Custom Facebook Fundraiser Creation Link generates a unique link for a campaign or event that you send to supporters. Anyone creating a fundraiser through it gets your settings instead of the defaults.

Supporters set the whole thing up in one tap, with none of the editing they would otherwise skip.

Where to put the link

One link works everywhere, so use it everywhere. In your supporter emails, in SMS, in the pinned post of a challenge group, on your thank-you page after a donation, in the supporter pack you send out, and as a QR code at in-person events.

Because fundraiser creation happens through your link, you can track it with the Facebook Pixel, which means you can finally see which channel is producing fundraisers rather than guessing.

Setting it up

If you already use GivePanel, it is under Integrations in your account settings.
