Month in review: October 2026
Charities raised £4.76m (about $6.38m or €5.66m) through 66 GivePanel campaigns launched in October. They covered challenges, DIY fundraising and events across the UK, Ireland and the US. For UK challenges alone, it was the biggest month of 2026.

JustGiving and Facebook in the UK
In UK campaigns, Facebook pages were more likely to become active, but JustGiving brought in 91% of the money. Once active, a JustGiving page raised almost twice as much as a Facebook one.

Facebook and Instagram in the US
US campaigns ran entirely on Meta and raised £1.27m. Facebook campaigns got more fundraisers active, while Instagram campaigns raised a little more per active fundraiser.

Looking ahead
October is one of the busiest months in the fundraising calendar, and this year UK challenges raised 74% more than in February, the next biggest month. With so many challenges running at once, supporters have plenty to choose from. If you’re running an October challenge in 2027, expect that competition and start planning by August.
